A cast lead alloy cat. It is a plump, contented cat in the seated position. The back of the model is quite crude although the features of the hip and leg are present, but the face is well moulded. It has been painted yellow. It seems to be a bred, domesticated cat and this is therefore probably a model of a twentieth century cat. The finder notes that the base is possibly damaged and it may have sat on a platform of some sort. Dimensions: It is 65mm high and 65mm wide and 200m deep, it weighs 102.10g

A handmade lead alloy aeroplane. It has a cigar shaped fuselage with a flat conical nose. The wings and the smaller tailplane are both triangular, finishing in a sharp point. Approximate halfway down the fuselage the body flattens to the tail, and on the tail end of the fuselage is an flattish oval structure. From the underside it can be seen that the fuseage is hollow and has been formed around something, the whole is cut from one sheet of lead alloy. It is red in colour and may have been painted. The plane is of no particular model and is either unfinished, or an imaginitiv…

A small chain comprising two silver links. Both links are square in plan. One is a slight D section, and plain, and both ends have been cut unevenly. It may be that this is not a link but a remnant of silver which has been bent into shape to loop with the other. The second link is joined and it is difficult to see where this join is, which makes the first link all the more likely not to be part of the original chain. This second link is highly decorated, with a wave and dot pattern on a background of parallel lines, running perpendicular to the edges of the link. This link has wea…

A silver service medal from World War 1, awarded to Pte. Nicholas Farnworth, 24391, which is inscribed on the rim of the medal. This silver medal was awarded to officers and men of the British and Imperial Forces who either entered a theatre of war (an area of active fighting) or served overseas (perhaps as a garrison soldier) between 5 August 1914 and 11 November 1918 inclusive. The ribbon would have had a central band of orange edged with white, black and blue lines and although many other medal ribbons symbolise something, it seems that the colour and pattern of the British War…

A copper alloy cap badge, which dates to the first part of the twentieth century. It has a coat of arms, showing the three lions of England on a lined background enclosed in a circular plaque, off which extend three equally spaced features at the top and both sides. This would have formed a Maltese cross with ball tipped ends when complete. Under this plaque is a straight piece of metal which probably acted as a fitting, a banner is at the bottom of this. The banner reads CINQUE PORTS. The banner is and the top of the fitting are joined by the lower part of the Malt…

A lead alloy figure of a soldier. He is in wearing infantry service or battle dress, and has his rifle resting along his leg on the his right hand side. He has packs of equipment across his chest. On his back he has a larger pack, and he is standing with his head bowed slightly. He may be wearing a beret. There is some damage to the back of his head, which seems recent, otherwise he is complete. As there is not enough detail to distinguish the type of dress he is wearing, it is not possible to say if he is a First or Second World War soldier but the shortened tunic would…

A lead alloy car of the early 20th century. The car modelled is a long bonneted low enclosed cabin sports car with long sweeping front wings. This type of car was popular in the 1930's and 1940's, seen in for example, the Hispano Suiza H6, or the Bugatti Atlantic, both of which were manufactured from 1938 onwards. The model is covered in a heavy white patina, and may have been lost soon after production, and may also have a very high lead content. Dimensions: 63mm long and 19mm wide

The suspension loop is still in place. The solid circular centre is engraved with initials, possibly CEH. The rear is plain except for lettering - firstly WCSSC, which presumably are the initials of the body that awarded the medallion. It is hallmarked with an anchor, lion and a date mark of x or z.
