A silver cut half of a voided long cross penny of Henry III (1216 - 1272), Long cross coinage (1247-1272). The half with the moneyer's name is missing, but the obverse inscription begins at 12 o'clock, which indicates that the class belongs to I - III, without the sceptre, and on the reverse the inscription reads /NG/LOV, which suggests the Gloucester mint. The moneyers in Gloucester were ION, LUC/AS, RIC/ARD and ROG/ER, all of whom only minted Classes IIb - IIIc.
