Incomplete cast copper alloy terret ring dating to the Roman period, (43-410AD). The object is semi-circular in plan and oval in cross-section. The ring tapers to two rounded points where the object has broken in antiquity. The object is decorated with a lipped projection into the ring interior. The base of the object has an oval opening which is hollow inside. The edges of the opening have been damaged however an incised groove can be seen on one side defining it. A Romano-British miniature terret, flat-backed, rather abraded. It measures height 19.5mm x 20mm, with a thickness of 3.5mm, 5mm at the collars or knobs at the ends of the bar. Compare with Hutcheson 2004, 113-5 nos. 79-91. It dates from the 1st century BC-1st century AD.

A cast copper-alloy terret ring c.50BC - 100AD. D shaped. Platform decorated with four leaf shapes moulded at equal distances around the ring. The attachment bar has broken off and is missing. The cross section thickens in the centre of the ring. 26.0mm in length, 6.4mm thick (centre of ring) and weighs 35.94g. The terret is a distinctive Iron Age object found only in Britain. Terrets were rein guides/rings for chariots or wagons and esamples have been found dating from the Iron Age to the early Roman period (c.300BC- 150AD).

A complete cast copper alloy mini terret, dating to the late Iron Age and early Roman periods. The terret is circular in plan, with a thick D-shaped hoop in cross-section. The lower part of the hoop is narrowed and to either side are two collars acting as a restriction for the strap. The reverse is flat. The surface is pitted and has a mid blueish-green patina.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy terret, possibly dating from the Roman period. Mass: 19.8g; length: 31.5mm; width: 32.3mm; thickness: 11.5mm. The object consists of a portion of a curved loop with an integral sub-rectangular loop on the external edge. When complete, it is likely that the curved loop would have been oval in plan.
