Object type: PATTERN
Broad period: EARLY MEDIEVAL
County: Norfolk
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
Lead artefact, possibly a pattern for a Middle - Late Saxon hooked tag. Triangular plate with two perforations positioned on the short edge and an old break at the tip. The front face exhibits moulded relief decoration in the form of two concentric ridged triangules, the inner triangle filled with five moulded pellets. The back is flat and undecorated. Similar in form to Read's (2008) Class B, Type 1 hooked tags, however, the plate is rather thick for an artefact of this type, so identification is not certain.
