Object type: PALETTE (COSMETIC)
Broad period: ROMAN
County: Lincolnshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
Pottery possible palette. Greyware with quartz inclusions, formed as dished disc. The form of the object is unusual, and though it is wheel thrown, there is no sign of the continuation of vessel walls from what initially looked like a base; this is probably not part of a pot. Suggested date: Roman, 100-300. This sherd was kindly identified by Wallace Collyer of the North Lincolnshire Pottery Research Group.
Weight: 50.46gms.
