Copper alloy door fitting. Cast plate to surround the keyhole in a wooden door, with a keyhole-shaped aperture surrounded by a moulded rayed pattern which becomes ribbed or segmented on the thickened outer edge of the plate. The keyhole aperture also stands a little proud of its setting; a drilled hole below the hole is presumably for fixing the plate. Copper alloy and iron door fitting. A cast escutcheon to cover a keyhole, with a heart-shaped base depending from a concave-sided rectangle. Deeply recessed moulded decoration within these figures retains a glossy black material whose thickness may suggest it to be relict enamel. Plain on the back with a cylindrical iron fixing pin of diameter 5.9mm on which the plate turned. The edges are crisp and the detail strongly defined. Copper alloy possible lock fitting. Trapezoid plate with a central cut-out in the form of  a serifed letter L and with a loop and slit at its narrower end. Possibly stamped and probably burnt, now lightly crumpled. The thickness is exactly 1mm which may hint at a 19th-century if not a later date. An incomplete, copper alloy object of uncertain date, likely post-Medieval. It is a decorative attachment, likely from a door. The object is made from a thin sheet of metal 0.49mm thick that has been embossed and has other forms of decoration. It is roughly spear shaped. At the top, there is a circular section with a diameter of 3.78mm, that leads to a thin branch 2.83mm wide. This then flairs out over a downward curving section. This section expands to 10.16mm wide, before tapering to 9.72mm and runs 4.72mm along the length of the object. Below this, another curved section …

Copper alloy door fitting. Copper alloy possible door fitting. Cast lock escutcheon, as kindly identified by the finder, comprising a central rounded part with opposed unequal trapezoid projections with rounded outer edges, the smaller retaining a round lug of thickness 5mm on which the plate turned in a single plane. Stamped letters comprise VR below a crown imperial, repeated towards the end and at the centre of the plate. These might introduce some doubt as to the identification offered, as they would usually be expected to appear on items of government property, which in this context might imply a portable …

An incomplete copper-alloy door knocker dating to the modern period, c. 1800-1900. The object is pear shaped, with a small protruding flat base off the main body at the bottom. It may be intended to be zoomorphic, representing the head of a large bird of prey, possibly an eagle or vulture. The front has a curved surface running across the whole width that gives it depth in the middle and tampers off to the thinner side edges. The item is in poor condition and has broken at the stem which attached it to the door. The front of the knocker is plain and has a black, green, yel…

Copper alloy lock fitting. A small cast escutcheon, of keyhole shape with opposed lugs just above its mid-point, and with the stub of a possibly iron pin upon which this presumably turned at its rounded end. Cast curved concavo-convex fragment from an object with a pair of rounded lugs projecting from its broader end, enabling its movement in a single plane if retained by them, and with a broad [6.3mm] medial strand of cabled decoration along the lower part of its concave side. The finder kindly suggests an alternative identification as a frag…

Cast concavo-convex circular half of a two-part object, with its halves joined at a hollow integrally cast projecting stalk set centrally within the concave interior. Copper alloy and iron possible door fitting. Fragment of a cast object with a cylindrical solid component and a curved integrally cast hollow part, the latter mostly broken. The cylindrical part has ferrous corrosion trapped between inner and outer rings of copper alloy on that side opposite the projecting part. This is interpreted as the springing of a door handle, formerly seated and turning on an iron bar, and with a lighter curved handle. Probably polished by the finder.
