A twice sharply folded sub-rectangular sheet metal patch of thickness 0.6mm, used to repair a split in the wall of a wooden vessel of an estimated diameter exceeding 110mm. An incomplete post medieval copper alloy double loop oval buckle dating between AD 1550-1650 The frame is roughly oval in plan and D-shaped in cross section, with concave long sides with a projecting knop at either end of the pin bar. The outside edges of each loop also expand into a pointed knop, the internal outside edges are also slightly expanded creating a kidney shaped aperture. A post-Medieval cast copper alloy spur hook. The object has a narrow hooked arm to attach to an eye of the spur terminal, with flanking lobes half way down and a lozengiform rear terminal. This is drilled to take a rivet with a domed and teardrop-shaped head acting as an integral rove to attach to the leathers. Circa 16th-17th century.
