An incomplete cast and wrought copper alloy Colchester brooch of Late Iron Age or Early Roman date (c. AD 20 – c. AD 65). Overall length 58.5mm, maximum width 12.0mm. Weight 5.01g. The coiled spring, the pin and the catch-plate are missing. The wings are also incomplete. The brooch is long and slender but severely corroded. It would have had small diminutive wings. A copper alloy Early Medieval domed disc brooch. The brooch has a diameter of 26.1mm and is 8.5mm thick. It has a plain border and a design in relief of a Jellinge-style animal with interlace. On the reverse the double pin lug and catchplate survive, and there is another projecting lug which is too corroded to see if it was pierced. The pin does not survive. Roman copper alloy polden hill brooch, 50mm long, 18mm wide and 15mm thick. The brooch is in fair condition with a green patina and weighs 12.68 grams. The brooch is missing its spring, pin and most of its catchplate, but its base can be seen, 20mm long. Its wings are short but have wornaway edges. One side shows decoration of horizontal recesses flanking a small ridge. The bow is sub rectangular in section and is decorated with two vertical ridges which appear to run its length. It has pitting all over its surface.

Roman copper alloy and silver bow brooch, 47mm long, 26mm wide and 19mm thick. The brooch is in a fiiar condition with a dark green patina and weighs 14.48 grams. Roman? copper alloy disc brooch fragment?, 27mm in diameter and 2mm thick. The fragment is in fair condition with a brown patina and weighs 3.39grams. The fragment has a curved edge and a central raised circle about 10mm in diameter. Its reverse has a circular sectioned shaft attached to it which has been bent to sit flush with the surface and a fragment of another circular sectioned shaft protruding near by, perhaps it originally formed a loop?

Scandinavian copper alloy disc brooch. The brooch is decorated with an openwork Jellinge-style design of an interlacing animal (see NMS-7446E3 and ESS-4D7A85 for other examples of this style). On the reverse there are the remains of the pin lug and catchplate. The pin is missing. There is also part of the suspension loop which the wearer could have passed a chain through to wear the brooch as a pendant.
