An incomplete copper-alloy brooch or hooked-tag manufactured from a re-used English jetton of the late 13th or early 14th century (c. 1280-1340). The jetton utilised to form the body of the brooch is broadly similar to Mitchiner 168ff., though an exact match can be found in Mernick reference 1a.10.21. The obverse of the jetton depicts three lions passant right within a shield, stars to each side and a crescent above, with a border of alternating rosettes and pellets around.
