Cast copper alloy ansate brooch of the middle to late Early Medieval period, of Weetch's type II.Aiii. The bow of the object is D-shaped in section and the sub-circular, disc-shaped terminals are rectangular in section. The terminals have engraved cells showing an encircled cruciform shape. These were probably intended to hold enamel or paste decoration. The reverse of the object is undecorated. A cast copper-alloy disc brooch of the late Early Medieval period, probably the 10th century. The brooch has a border of square beads with a beast (perhaps a stylised lion) in the centre. The beast is facing left looking back over its shoulder. The beast has a scaled neck, probably a mane, and a thick raised tail, and four legs with three toes each. A cast copper-alloy headstud brooch of the Roman period. The brooch is largely complete, though missing its pin and suffering from corrosion. The brooch has square-sectioned arms with a cast integral loop at the top of the head. The bow is decorated down its length from the casting, but also supplemented by enamel. The decoration consists of triangle/triscales in a circle, with one above the headstud and 3 below it. The topmost triscale is decorated with blue enamel. The headstud is also filled with blue enamel. The pin was attached with a simple hinge.

A complete annular brooch of Medieval date. The brooch consists of a circular hoop and pin. The hoop is square in section with the only defining feature notable as two thickenings of the hoop on opposite sides. The pin is attached by a simple hinge with a length of 22.35mm and 1.41mm thick.

Fantail, bow brooch of the Roman period. Copper alloy. The head consists of a small tubular crossbar in which the pin is hinged. Aboce the brooch is a loop to hold a chain. The bow is narrow with two vertical grooves running down in decoration. Below this the brooch flares to a flat traingular foot. This bears a motif of double trumpet or bud shape, the lines of decoration neeting forming a diamond pattern at the top of the foot. The decoration is silvered. The catchplate lies behind the centre of the flared foot.

A cast disc brooch of the late Roman or Early Medieval periods. The brooch is incomplete, with about 25% of the plate missing from one side. It has been cast solid, with an integrally cast lug and catchplate. No pin remains. The plate is circular in plan, and has a raised inner circle. A cast copper-alloya late Iron Age to early Roman Colchester brooch. The brooch is incomplete, lacking a catchplate and spring-pin. The bow is circular in section and tapers as it approaches the foot. The even arc of the bow in profile has also been lost due to bends just above the break of the catchplate and just below the head. A cast copper-alloy (probably brass) birdlip-type brooch of the early Roman period, dating to the 1st century. The brooch is incomplete, missing the spring-pin and most of the catchplate and foot. The solid head is slightly trumpet-shaped with a medial ridge and raised semi-circular panels along the sides. The base of the head has a transverse disc with a moulded collar above and below it, and the hooked 'beak' typical of the type below the disc. The bow is X-shaped in section, with an openwork catchplate emerging at the bottom of the bow.

A cast copper-alloy Hod Hill type brooch of the early Roman period, dating to the mid 1st century. The brooch is incomplete, missing the head as well as the pin, with only the bow remaining. The bow has a square upper panel ribbed, but with no evidence of lugs. Below are three, perhaps four cross mouldings, with the bow tapering toward the footknob. There is a raised band of cross moulding just above the footknob. Most of the catchplate remains, except for the hook. There is no evidence for tinning.

A cast copper-alloy fantail brooch of the later 1st century. The brooch is nearly complete, missing only the shaft of the hinged pin, a small bit of which protrudes out of the slot in the head. The head is formed by two cylindrical arms rolled back, with no indication of a headloop. The bow is triangular in section and tapers to the fan-shaped foot (max width: 21.65mm). The foot has two raised triangular panels, which are also in copper-alloy rather than enamel. A triangular catchplate with a curled tip projects from the centre of the underside of the foot.

A cast copper alloy Roman brooch of Colchester type (two piece).This type of brooch is attributed to the 1st century AD. Both the head and the catchplate are broken and the brooch is missing the pin. There is a sharp angle at the head and the bow is decorated with two grooves. The metal is dark and slightly corroded. A parallel can be found in Bayley, J. and Butcher, S. (2004) Roman Brooches in Britain, London: SANT: 61f: fig. 51.
