A cast copper alloy spiral brooch of probable later Bronze Age or early Iron Age date (1000 – 600 BC). The artefact is irregular in plan and cross section. It is formed with a central plate from which two integral cast wires extend. These wires are D shaped in cross section and are turned back upon themselves to form an oval open shape. The two terminals have been hammered to form a square cross-section and then rolled to form circular flat spiral or coil. One arm of the artefact has been distorted by movement in the ploughsoil.
