A cast copper alloy Roman Trumpet brooch, 50.83mm in length, missing its spring and pin. The head is oval with a protruding lozengiform terminal at the front and single hinge loop underneath. The bow is of triangular cross section divided centrally by a pair of reels with a central button. The lower part of the bow tapers to a moulded foot with a deep triangular catchplate beneath. Circa late 1st to late 2nd century AD.

A heavily corroded fragment of a Roman copper-alloy Wroxeter type, bow brooch dating to c.AD 75-175.
Comprising of just the sub-oval head-plate and the top of the bow. The head-plate has possible linear decoration on the face, a break at the top and on the reverse a raised transverse ridge across the base. The curved bow has a D-shaped cross-section, being flat on the reverse, with two longitudinal grooves on the face down to a break. A copper alloy annular brooch dating from the Medieval period, AD 1200 - 1300. It has a circular frame, half of which is plain and circular in cross-section. The other half is sub-square in cross-section, with concave sides, and is twisted to form a cable pattern. Each face is decorated with double lines of opposed punched triangles. An incomplete Early Medieval copper-alloy ansate brooch dating to circa AD 700-1000. Cast in one piece it consists of two flat discoidal terminals at either end. One terminal appears to have been slightly miscast with a circular protrusion projecting from one edge. The bow has a triangular-section and is curved in profile. The terminals and bow are undecorated. Projecting from the reverse of one of the terminals is a heavily corroded lug which would have held the now missing pin. There is now no trace of a catchplate projecting from the reverse of the other terminal.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy Roman Colchester derivative hinged brooch dating to c. AD 43-120.
The brooch has tubular wings enclosing an axis bar, with a slot in the centre for the pin. Only remnants of the pin has survived inside the slot. The bow springs out from the wings, it is D-shaped in cross-section, tapering to a broken point. The brooch is very corroded and worn, no traces of decoration are visible. The pin and catchplate are missing.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy brooch (Nauheim derivative) of Iron Age to Roman date (c.50BC-AD50).
Description: The brooch has a four-coiled spring with internal chord. The pin is broken near the coil. The spring and bow are rectangular in cross-section, tapering slightly to the pointed foot. There is a solid rectangular catchplate on the back of the foot. The brooch has a medium green patina and is bent at >90 degrees the bottom.

An early medieval (Anglo-Saxon) cast copper alloy disc brooch, 29.2mm in diameter. The face has incised decoration in the form of five dot-in-annulet motifs, one at the centre with four arranged equidistant around it. The reverse has an in-line catchplate and hinge lug, the latter retaining a rusted remnant of an iron spring and pin. Circa 5th-6th century AD.

An early medieval (Anglo-Saxon) cast copper alloy saucer brooch, dating to c. AD.450-550. The front of the brooch is dished, with an angular and upturned rim around; this is incomplete on one side. The front of the brooch is decorated with a five pointed star pattern formed by double-ridged concave arcs enclosed by an engraved concentric line around a small central boss. There is no trace of gilding. The reverse has an in-line hinge lug and catchplate. There is extensive deposition of iron corrosion products around the hinge lug from a now lost iron spring and pin.

Copper alloy brooch of Colchester derivative, Polden Hill dating AD 75-200. It has rearward facing lugs on either end of the wings that would have held the pin axes bar, but one wing is truncated resulting in the loss of the axe bar, spring and pin. The head of the bow has a tapering triangular panel with expanded shoulders. In the centre of the head is a crest with a loop at the back that would have held the external cord of the spring. the remainder of the bow is undecorated and the catch plate on the reverse is complete.

The copper alloy brooch has semi-cylindrical undecorated wings with perforated wing caps, one wing is incomplete. Description: The head of the brooch consists of tubular wings, with a slot for a hinged pin, now missing, the axis bar for which is threaded through the wings. The bow narrows slightly from the head and ends in a transverse break. It is decorated with a raised moulded triangle, the sides of which are engraved. An incomplete Roman cast copper alloy lugged wheel disc brooch dating to the 2nd century AD. The brooch is circular in shape, with an openwork 'wheel' design with a ring-shaped central boss held in place by four spokes connected to an outer frame. On the basis of comparisons to other known examples (e.g. YORYM-BF9311) the pierced centre of the boss may have once held a projecting knopped boss, which is now missing.
