A silver pin from a medieval brooch, probably of annular type. The pin is 27.6mm in length and bent. The shaft has a flattened and oval cross section and tapers to a rounded tip. There is a small collar at the loop which is decorated with punched annulets, although use wear has obscured these. The articulation loop has a flat cross section. The underside of the pin has a distinctive patch of corrosion running from the bend to the tip. This may relate to use, perhaps representing an area in regular prolonged contact with acidic organic surfaces such as skin or leather.

A later medieval cast copper alloy frame from a large annular brooch, 36.8mm in diameter. The frame is sub rectangular in cross section, 2.1mm thick and 4.4mm wide. One one side there is a projection in the form of an acorn with a moulded collar. On the opposite side of the frame is a pin constriction, the presence of which suggests an interpretation as a brooch rather than a buckle. See also SUR-945E92 & SUSS-5AA6E2.

A cast copper alloy penannular object, possibly a brooch frame or a mount. The object has a crescent shaped frame, 26.9mm in width, with bevelled sides, which expands in thickness from 1.9mm thick at the terminals, to a maximum thickness of 4.2mm at the mid point of the crescent. At this mid point is a small hole infilled with rusted iron, probably an articulation for a now missing iron pin, or a mounting point. The terminals at the ends of the arms of the crescent have small rounded plates with five projecting spokes and a central hole, which could be decorative or for attachment…

A cast pewter openwork annular brooch of medieval date comprising an open ring with a raised front surrouded by beaded borders and, running around its exterior, six projecting letters of lombardic form reading AMOVRS. The O and V are now folded back onto the front of the frame. A bent circular suspension or attachment ring projects from the top of the letter M. The reverse has damage, but appears to have stumps of brooch fittings. The style of the letters would suggest a later 14th to early 15th century date.

A fragment of a medieval cast copper alloy zoomorphic annular brooch, 31mm in length. The remaining portion of the frame comprises an oval lobe drilled for a pin which is held by flanking beast heads. The drilled pin hole at the centre retains a copper alloy pin. Each flanking head faces the pin articulation and has a ridged collar at the neck, moulded brows and snout and blind drilled holes representing gaping jaws. The narrow necks extending back from each head would have extended into a circular frame with plano convex section. Both end in old breaks.

A complete cast copper alloy medieval annular figurative brooch. The frame is moulded into a depiction of a male figure standing on the left, with a beast on the right which is most likely a dragon. The figure's left arm is outstretched to form a bar for a copper alloy wire pin, which remains in place, and joins to the head of the beast.
