Description: A complete silver medieval annular brooch. The frame is circular in shape and has a four-faced cable twist. It is decorated with a line of small engraved dots along each of the four faces. There is a worn section to one side, probably where the pin sat in use. The pin is formed from a tapering strip simply bent around the hoop to form the head. There is a raised collar decorated with dots dividing the head from the stem.. An incomplete Late Iron Age to Roman copper-alloy Langton Down brooch dating to AD 20-65. T-shaped in plan, the extant piece consists of the wings and upper bow. The wings are cylindrical with straight, solid edges. A longitudinal seam runs along the reverse of the wings.  In the centre is a now heavily abraded slot for the now missing hinged in to be housed within. An incomplete enamelled copper alloy Roman plate brooch. less than half of the deep crescentic (or 'pelta') shaped plate survives. This is slightly concave, curving towards the reverse in profile. A short point projects from the centre of the upper edge and a wider, rounded section from the centre of the lower edge. A silver annular brooch, or possibly buckle frame, measuring 13mm in external diameter. It consists of a ring, with a circular cross-section, with silver wire woven around it in an elaborate pattern, this wire decoration is rectangular in cross-section. The pin constriction is 3mm in length and the pin is missing. The side of the brooch opposite the pin constriction has been damaged and the wire pattern destroyed. This brooch is likely to be medieval in date.

A fragment of a silver Early Medieval (Anglo-Saxon) probable Great Square Headed brooch, dating to AD 500-570. It is sub-rectangular in plan and it bears a moulded decoration on its front face. The decoration consists of a raised L-shaped line along one broken edge, which defines an incomplete panel decorated with an unclear sunken relief. A complete silver gilt brooch. This brooch has been cut from a sheet of silver, it is circular in shape and measures 24mm in external diameter and 15mm in internal diameter. There is a circular pin hole through which the pin is still attached via a closed loop. The pin is triangular in shape measuring 21mm in length, it has a transverse ridge after the loop and tapers to a point. Both the front and back faces of the frame and the pin are decorated with gilding. This brooch is medieval in date and will be examined in more detail under the Treasure Act at the British Museum.
