An amber coloured glass/stone round bead, encircled with a strip of lead, which attaches to another piece, now missing, and would appear to have formed the figure of eight. The intact section shows no evidence of having being attached to another element at its other end. it is possible that the broken lead strip, from the second element, has meant the loss of another bead. It is possibly some decorative edging from a item of household furnishing, or similar.
Overall length 21.4 mm, length of intact section 14.3 mm, width 13.1 mm, thickness 10.2 mm and weight 4.59 g.

A cast lead alloy object of uncertain function and date. The object is comprised of two hollow cast sans serif letters R F, forming a square block. The edges are worn but the object appears complete. The letters are reversed, when viewed from the raised, convex side both R and F are facing backwards. The hole in the loop of the R perforates through the object. There is no substantial border but the edges are curved inwards, possibly the object formed a lid of some kind. The object has a dusty buff patina.

A cast, decorated copper alloy fragment, domed with decoration in the form of four arches forming a cruciform shape. within each arch is a crescent with feathered edges and two small dark glassy inserts, possibly gems or beads of glass, creating the impression of eyes in a lunate face. There is a similar insert at each point of the cross formed by the arches. There is also a central circular cell on the top of the dome, which appears to have also had such an insert, however this is damaged and distorted.
The circumferential edge is chipped and broken, the reverse is concav…

Workflow stage: Awaiting validation
A damaged disc of lead alloy of uncertain date. The object has a raised rim with indented decoration, possibly lettering, the pattern can not be clearly seen due to wear and damage. In the centre of the disk is a raised pellet 4mm diameter; this does not show on the reverse so appears to be a decorative feature rather than an attachment rivet. On the reverse there appears to be a linear mark running across the diameter, which may represent some soldered feature such as a pin or hinge. This is uncertain because of damage.
The object is broken more or less in half by a ja…

An incomplete lead or lead alloy flat spindle whorl or loom weight of the Roman to Post Medieval period, dating from c. AD 43 - AD 1650.
The object is broadly oval in plan, and D shaped in section. The upper face is domed slightly and the base is flat. Both faces show linear decoration in the form of one vertical and one horizontal line forming a right angle. It is difficult to see whether this was deliberate. There is a circular perforation that is set slightly off centre, it has an inner diameter of 8.5 mm.

A complete lead weight of probably the Medieval to Post Medieval period, dating from c. AD 1100 - c. AD 1800.
The weight is roughly formed, being conical with a broadly circular, indented base. The base has two kidney shaped depressions in the surface, the centre of one has a oval perforation, with a type of material embedded. There is another oval perforation in between the kidney shaped depressions. These may be the remains of a suspension loop, however this is not clear. The sides are irregular and they taper to a rounded apex. There appears to be no obvious decoration on the …

A copper alloy chisel tool of uncertain date, possibly post-medieval (c. AD 1500-1900). In section the shaft is an irregular chamfered rectangle, there are shallow grooves running along the flat surfaces and the butt end is flattened and burred from striking. The shaft flares out to the cutting edge which is triangular in profile, with a straight edge dented in the middle, possibly from contact with an iron nail. Given the relatively soft metal, it is possible this tool was for splitting wood rather than carving.

An incomplete copper alloy object of uncertain date and function. It has a sub-rectangular sectioned stem which terminates at both ends in a double-pronged projection which bears some resemblance to a nail-clearer, but which was more likely to be created by a break running across a hole such as a suspension loop. One terminal end is flattened and spatulate, and turned through ninety degrees to the stem. The stem bends through an arch, which seems to be a deliberate feature rather than due to damage.
