This is a copper alloy, medieval to post medieval, single loop buckle circa 1485 - 1600. The design is plain with the typical loop with splayed feet at the junction of the bar. This design is thought to have continued into the 17th century. The pin is missing and the surface is a heavily oxidised green.

This is a cast copper alloy medieval buckle with its buckle plate intact circa 13th / 14th century.The single loop is in the style of a 'lobed' buckle and is otherwise undecorated.The pin is missing but the buckle plate has the remnants of a leather belt within with a single rivet fixture is still in situ.The plate has signs of decoration consisting of parallel lines and dots, there is also a hint of a pair of parallel lines running around it edge. The loop has a pale green patina whilst the buckle plate is more heavily corroded with a brown/green patina and much surface corrosion.

A cast copper alloy single loop buckle from the late medieval to post medieval period (1485-1650). The buckle has rounded sides that splay out to meet the junction of the cross bar, typical of Marshall type IP. A remnant of the pin remains attached to the bar. The surface has a powdery light green patina.

A post-medieval copper alloy double looped buckle. It is D-shaped with a slightly off-centre bar. There are protruding pieces of metal along one edge probably caused during the casting process when metal has leaked from the seam of the mould. The whole buckle is slightly corroded. The pin is missing. The buckle measures 25.4mm L, 21.4mm W, 2.9mm T and weighs 4.1g.
