Cast copper alloy uniface coin weight depicting a crowned shield with three lis within the shield and one on either side of it. This is a weight for the French ecu, which were issued with minor weight variations from the reign of Charles VII (1422-61) to the ecu a la couronne neuf of Louis XI (1436-1475), but this example might have been made in Britain in the early 16th century when the ecu was current for four shillings c.1525 (Withers, 1995, P.39).

Flint backed blade or knife, lozenge shaped in plan and section, and convex in profile. There is an oblique platform on the left margin of the dorsal face, from the distal end to half way along the margin and the blade edge is retouched on the left margin of the dorsal face, from the distal to the proximal end. The areas of cortex remaining on the right margin suggest that the blade was made from a secondary flake. The ventral face preserves the bulb of percussion at the proximal end. The colour of the flint is a mottled light to dark grey which suggests that the blade was made…
