An incomplete copper-alloy Roman scabbard chape. It is a peltiform chape with hollow interior, all the attachment ends are now missing due to old breaks. It measures 41.28mm wide and has a surviving length of 21.93mm, the object weighs 7.55g. A very similar example exists ins Chapman. 2005. A Catalogue of Roman Military Equipment in the National Museum of Wales. Pages 14-15, no. Bb12. This reference cites no. Bb12 as being and incomplete example of no. Bb01 of which a similar example has been found in Suffolk, see SF-F763A1 (https://finds.org.uk/database/artefacts/record/id/645098).

An incomplete Roman copper-alloy bell-shaped stud/furniture fitting dating to circa AD 43-410. It is circular in plan and sub-rectangular in section. The top face is circular and concave with a small central conical raised boss. Emerging from the bottom is circular platform with straight sides and a flat base. The remains of an iron rectangular-sectioned shank project from the base. That it was iron indicates it would have been a shank of Allason Jones Type 1.
Bell-shaped studs are noted to be poorly understood but possibly used as furniture fittings on doors…

A group of thirteen Roman pewter vessels was initially exposed during a detecting rally on 3rd September 2022, but as they were clearly a hoard group and in poor condition excavation was postponed until 20th September when conservators were available to help lift the whole group. A small pit was identified as the feature within which the vessels had been buried. Laboratory excavation and conservation was carried out by Norfolk Museum Services.
The hoard consists of a stack of plates and platters with smaller bowls, dishes and a cup placed on and alongside this. There is evidence for …

A rim sherd of a wheel-thrown ceramic Greyware jar or bowl of Roman date, circa AD100 - 300. The fabric is dark blackish-grey in colour with a hard and gritty texture and black burnished outer surface. Abundant inclusions of mica are present giving a speckled appearance within the fabric. The fragment has a thick beaded rim.
The fragment is 113.2mm long, 41.39mm wide, Rim 14.27mm thick, body 5.51mm thick, and weighs 52.7g.
Overall diameter: 18cm (projected using rim chart); approx.20% of rim remaining.

Rectangular form with protruding circular attachment lugs at each corner. The front surface is decorated with a crudely executed figure of a crucified human figure wearing a girdled tunic. Identified as a Scottish issue of Saint Andrew by comparison with a parallel from London (Spencer 1998, no. 265). The rectangular shape, with stitching rings, has more in common with Continental than with English badges.

Lead-alloy pilgrim's badge depicting St Andrew, now bent in half. An upright rectangular plaque, it has a surviving projection at one lower corner that would originally have extended to a stitching loop; the other three corners are broken. St Andrew is in the centre of the plaque, wearing a striped or pleated gown drawn in at the waist; his limbs are splayed as if attached to an X-shaped cross. He faces the observer, but his face is very crude indeed with two large round eyes, a round nose and two large straight lips filling the whole of the space.

A complete copper-alloy shield shaped harness strap fitting, or stud. It measures 17mm in length and 15mm in width. The front face is decorated with a central four petalled relief flower, each petal is separate and oval in shape, and there is a triangular stalk at the base of the flower. In the centre of the back face there is a cylindrical shaped stud, measuring 8mm in length and 4mm in width. This stud is medieval and probably 14th century in date.

A fragment of a Roman copper alloy cable twisted bracelet dating to c.AD 300-450.
The fragment is oval in section consists of three pieces of copper alloy wire tightly twisted together. A one end, the band is broken and the three wires are broken at different points which helps to demonstrate how they are twisted together. At the opposite end, the band narrows slightly and the three wires are pressed together. The object has a dark green patina.

An incomplete Roman copper-alloy bracelet dating to circa AD 43-55, surviving in two fragments.
Fragment 1. Rectangular in plan comprised of a flat sheet, C-shaped in section. One end appears to be a terminal and at the other is an ancient break. The front face is decorated with a heavily worn design consisting with two parallel longitudinal columns. Each column contains three raised grooves. The reverse face is plain.

An incomplete pouch-shaped cast lead ampulla of Medieval date. It is damaged and partially flattened and both suspension lugs are missing.
It has an elongated neck and oval shaped opening. The obverse face depicts the letter S (reversed) beneath a crown. The reverse has a moulded scallop shell motif.
This ampulla measures 54.57mm in length, 28.39mm in width, 6.39mm in thickness, 41.76g in weight.

A copper-alloy fragment of a Middle Bronze Age side-looped spearhead, dating to 1500 - 1200 BC. It consists of the socket and the lower part of the blade. The socket is damaged and incomplete, however an original oval cross-section can be confidently suggested. Symmetrically placed on the sides of the socket are two oval loops, which have an oval cross-sectioned frame. An incomplete copper-alloy basal-looped spearhead of the Middle Bronze Age, dating to 1500 BC -1150 BC. The blade has a flame shape in plan and a lozenge-shaped cross-section, with a slightly rounded mid-rib ridge extending to the its tip. There is only one oval loop surviving out of the two which are incorporated into the base of the blade, one either side of the central rib. The mid-rib extends and expands to form the hollow circular-sectioned socket. Both edges of the blade are moderately worn and the surfaces are pitted.
