A cast lead artefact, probably a one ounce weight of Medieval or early Post-Medieval date, about AD 1350 - 1800, It is discoid in form, flat on both faces and has vertical sides. One side is slightly dished and may carry the remains of a moulded design or may just have blobs of metal adhereing to the surface. It is 29.8mm in diameter and 6.3mm thick. It weighs 31.3g which is close to the mass of one ounce in the Troy or Apothecaries' systems of weight measurment (31.1g). See Egan (1998), page 302.
