A complete copper-alloy Roman Colchester derivative hinged brooch. It has moulded wings and grooves on the bow, complete except for the pin. The wings have incised five transverse lines with a pronounced central humped bow. The flat-backed bow has two grooves either side of the central band which has a moulded groove at the top. Evidence of a white metal coating.

Appears undecorated, although very worn, with a spring, now missing, attached to a single lug, headloop missing, it has a full round waist-moulding and terminal of bow is missing due to old breaks. cAD 60-125 in date.

A complete Roman copper-alloy plate brooch dating to circa AD 200-350, missing only the pin. It is oval in plan. In the centre is a recessed oval cell surrounded by a projecting rectangular-sectioned oval border. The cell would have been inlaid with a conical glass or stone setting which is now missing. Between the outer border and the outer edge are traces of gilding. Projecting from the reverse is a D-shaped pin lug. At the lower edge is a flat catchplate, much of which has now broken away. The reverse retains traces of a white metal coating.

A cast lead miniature axe of possible Roman date. It is square in section at the butt end, tapering in width towards the blade end where it flares to produce a triangular plan and profile. At the butt end is an circular socket. TIt measures 19.04mm in length, 10.11mm in width, 1.70mm in thickness (at blade end), and weighs 3.45g.
This is possibly a votive axe similar to other examples recorded through the PAS database (e.g. IOW-DFA401, FAKL-B0C080, SF-BD6BA3, SF-4AB493 or SF-105BC3). These examples suggest a possible Roman date for the object, however a later date cannot be …

A complete cast copper-alloy end-looped cosmetic pestle dating to the late Iron Age or early Roman period, c. 1-200 AD. It consists of a crescentic sub-circular sectioned rod with one end pointed and the other demonstrating an integrally cast end-loop. It is plain with no decorative elements. It measures 44.79mm in length, 3.64mm in width and 3.97g in weight.

A complete Roman enamelled copper-alloy seal box lid section. It is square-shaped with small knops projecting from each corner. A single pierced lug projects at a right-angle from the centre of one side where it would have hinged against the reverse originally. An incomplete copper-alloy Roman Colchester derivative rear hook bow brooch. It is missing the spring, pin and lower bow/ catchplate due to old breaks. The wings are semi-cylindrical in form, separated by an integrally cast rear facing hook. The bow is D-shaped in section, tapering to a pointed foot that is missing its tip due to old breaks. It has decoration on its front face comprising a central vertical rib that runs from rear hook to foot and grooves along the edges of the bow.
It measures 29mm in length, 21.9mm in width at wings, and 5g in weight.
