A miniature medieval brooch, roughly oval in shape, and terminating in two joined hands. The brooch has two facets which carry an enigmatic inscription, punctuated by flowers and colons. Reading clockwise from the pin, the letters are On the inner band N V I V N: I I M I N I On the outer band: V I I I T I: I: I - I I V L V I (?)I The meaning of this is unclear, but may have magical or amuletic significance. The two hands may once have held a pearl, which is customary for brooches of this type. The brooch is gold, and dates from the thirteenth century.

Treasure Report: 2005/T8 Parish/County: Rowington, Warwickshire A medieval brooch of trefoil shape. Each part of the trefoil was originally enamelled. The enamel survives in two of the foils and is coloured blue and white. The third area has lost its enamel, which may have been of a different colour less well preserved in the ground. The bottom foil is decorated with five gold crescents and an asymmetrically placed star to the left of centre. Small gilded silver annular brooch, pentagonal with a raised circular boss at the centre of four of the sides, and the D-sectioned loop of the pin at the centre of the fifth side. The remainder of the pin is broken off. The circular bosses are decorated with raised pellets - one with 4, one with 3, and two with an uncertain number. The frame is D-sectioned. The reverse is plain and flat.

Post medieval brooch; cast gold brooch of possible 16th century date. The brooch is a miniature ring of twisted gold wire sandwiched between two further rings of plain gold wire. There is further twisted wire forming a cross through the centre of the brooch, adorned with a gold pellet at the end of each arm and with a tiny ring of twisted wire in the centre. Medieval gold annular brooch, 21.5mm in diameter and 1 mm thick. The object is in fair condition and weighs 2.64grams. The brooch is circular in form and rectangular in section with a slight concavity. It has been bent out of shape at some point and has small creases on part of its surface. The object has a small recess which holds a semi-circular pin bar. The upper surface of the brooch is inscribed AVE: MARIA GRATIA in Lombardic scrpit and has a narrow incised border on its inner edge.

A complete Medieval gold annular brooch (1200-1400). Treasure case no. 2010 T330. The frame is circular in plan, oval (almost circular) in cross-section and has a constriction for the pin. The loop of the pin fully encloses the constriction. Between the loop and the shaft there is a collar decorated on its upper and lower surfaces with several randomly situated 'C'-shaped stamp marks. A miniature medieval brooch, formed of a wire ring with a recess for the pin articulation. The pin is intact, though slightly bent, and tapers towards its pointed end. The attachment loop is ribbed with four grooves and it has a collar decorated with three rows of circular punches. The brooch is gold, and dates from the thirteenth or early fourteenth century. Three of the stones survive and appear green in colour (probably glass). Each collett is supported by a collar of stamped decoration. The frame of the brooch has been bent slightly out of shape. A gold hexagonal brooch dating to the thirteenth century (Treasure reference number 2011 T623). The frame is hexagonal in plan and triangular in cross-section. The base is undecorated but the interior face is decorated with beading. A very finely worked gold brooch of hollow construction, the brooch takes the form of a six-petalled flower. The obverse is engraved with a black letter inscription which reads 'EN BONE TEMPS' ('in good time'). The inscription is punctuated with foliate scrolls and would originally have contained enamel which is now lost. Very fine medieval gold annular brooch dating from the 15th century. The brooch is hollow cast and is hemispherical in section. Part of the frame is made up of a pair of very finely cast three-dimensional clasped hands, the right hand faces the front and is positioned over the left. There is a raised band immediately below the knuckles suggesting the end of a sleeve. The left hand, facing the back of the brooch, has the same band but is less pronounced probably due to wear.
