The bow from a one-piece brooch of Late Iron Age date. The bow is of flat strip form and tapers inwards towards the missing catchplate. On either side of the bow is a very wide groove with a zigzag between. At the upper end of the bow is a series of transverse grooves. Both spring and pin are missing. The brooch is in good condition.

An early Roman brooch of Colchester type. The brooch has plain side wings, catchplate and spine but there is a rounded knop and a collar on the foot. The corrosion suggest an iron repair to the spring, unless the spring was iron originally.

A lead alloy annular brooch. On the frame are four integrally mounted diamond-shaped expansions. Two of these have raised pyramids and the other two have cast fleur-de-lys. Between these are raised pellets.

A one piece brooch of early Colchester form. The side wings are plain. The spring has been displaced and the pin is missing. The upper part of the bow thickens into a flaring knop below which the bow is much narrower and in section becomes a flattened diamond shape. The catchplate is plain.

A Roman plate brooch. The brooch is oval and has a central oval frame, now empty, but which probably contained a glass inlay. Most of the outer edge of the brooch is missing.On the back is a hinge with traces of an iron pin. Of the catchplate only a stub remains. there are no traces of either enamel of surface coating.

A Roman Hod Hill brooch with side lugs, one of which is missing. The bow is triangular with the short base at the bottom and from this the lugs project.There are two transverse ridges below the lugs. There are traces of an iron pin and possible traces of a white metal coating.

The upper part of a Roman bow brooch, a Langton Down variant, with the bow at right-angles to the head. The spring would have been housed in the semi-cylindrical casing. Along the bow is a series of pairs of arrow-shaped pits which may once have held enamel.

The brooch's terminals are of triangular form, each with three circular projections which may have held enamel and triangular cells containing the remains of red and blue enamel. The central rounded element is divided by two deep transverse grooves. The hinge is broken and the pin appears to have been of iron.
