Fragment of an Anglo-Saxon cruciform brooch. The broooch is small which indicates an early date in the series. The brooch is missing from the bow upwards; only the zoomorphic foot remains. The catchplate remains on the reverse.

Original identification (with the object type 'Personal Ornament'): Copper-alloy pendant, possibly of a 'Thor's Hammer' type. The object comprises a flat-sectioned, axe-shaped pendant. There is a perforation with iron inclusions at the top of the narrow 'axe base', this being the area located behind the flared edge of the axehead. Incomplete gilt copper alloy cruciform brooch. The upper half of the brooch, along with the nostrils of the terminal are missing. Terminal from the foot of a copper-alloy small-long brooch. The fragment is flat and has three moulded transverse collars above a gently flaring triangular terminal. The two flaring side edges are both slightly bevelled, and decorated with a rwo of ring-and-dot motifs, six down one side and seven down the other. The straight lower edge has a ridge running along it. Early Anglo-Saxon, 5th or 6th century AD.

The object is in poor condition with a brown patina and weighs 4.54grams The object consists of the lower part of a cruciform brooch which is missing a lot of its surface. It is rectangular in form and begins with a stylised animal head which is sub semi-circular in section and has bulging eyes. There is a rectangular area above it which may have a decorated border. A fragment of a cast copper alloy small square-headed brooch of Early Early-Medieval date (AD 475 - AD 575). Length: 18.1mm; width: 15.9mm and 4.4mm thick. Weight: 1.42g. The fragment is part of the foot-plate and all the breaks are old. Viewing the brooch in plan, the front is decorated with a characteristic moulded cruciform shape. TREASURE CASE : 2007 T445. Viking-period hacksilver fragment from the terminal of an Irish type of brooch. Surface metal analysis conducted at the British Museum indicated an approximate silver content for the fragment of over 90%, with copper, gold and lead. Early Saxon foot of cruciform brooch. Below an ancient break two sets of very fine transverse engraved lines and single notch on both sides. Very simple half-round moulding with a pair of transverse grooves below side chamfers. Slightly protruding eyes and a strong median arris down to swollen undivided nostrils, which are decorated with very finely engraved oblique lines. Terminal projecting loop with transverse hole. Length 43mm. Martin dates this type to c. 475-c. 500 AD (2015, 126).

A cast copper-alloy disc, probably a disc brooch of the middle Anglo-Saxon period. Only the plate remains, consisting of a decorated copper-alloy disc and central stud made of silver.
