A piece of gold wire made from four strands twisted. The wire was made from 4 smaller wires (diameter c. 2.4 mm) twisted together in a clockwise spiral giving an overall diameter for the twisted wire of 5 mm. The wire piece weighs 7.24g and is 20mm long (unstraightened). The fragment appears to have been cut from a larger piece of wire at one end, although the other end appears to be a break. Analysis shows these wires are made of over 80% gold.

The sheet is folded forming a front and back-plate the edges of which are torn, except for the lower edge of the back-plate which appears neatly cut, and the straight folded edge. An incomplete fragment of gold of uncertain function and form. The fragment of gold is sub rectangular in plan and flat. Facets are present on both surfaces, suggesting that it has been hammered, they create an almost cross like shape. It measures 9.0 mm in length, 7.6 mm wide and 1.1 mm thick. It weighs 0.6 g. As the original function and form can not be determined from this small fragment, it is undiagnostic of age and can not be proven to be older than 300 years. Incomplete gold object, possibly a boss from a brooch or other piece of jewellery. The reverse is recessed. The obverse exhibits a central oval reserve set with a turquoise stone or paste setting. This is surrounded by four triangular cells, one at each of the cardinal points. Each cell exhibits an oval recess, one of which retains traces of a turquoise setting. The other three cells retain traces of an adhesive or cement. Between the triangular cells are trapezoidal cells, each retaining two recesses for stone or paste settings. Five off-white stones remain.

A gold enamelled and jewelled object of yet to be determined use, possibly a pendant, dress-ornament or belt-fitting. Openwork cartouche, central white enamelled square setting containing a cut garnet, on cruciform with short arms within elaborate blue and white enamelled foliate frame. Triple-ribbed suspension loop, small pierced trefoil at foot. The back of the setting stands slightly proud within incised cruciform marking-out lines. A ‘6’ or ‘9’ incised on the back of the setting. The gold content was found to be approximately 92%, the inset stone is a garnet.
