A copper alloy Roman nummus of Valens, probably dating to the period AD 364-375 (Reece period 19). GLORIA ROMANORVM reverse type depicting Emperor advancing right with standard and dragging captive. The mintmark is unclear, but might be TRP crescent for Trier. LRBC, p. 47, cf. no. 85. This coin will be checked against other coins of Trier.

A silver probable contemporary copy silique of the House of Valentinian (probably Valens) dating to the period AD 364 - 378. VOT//X//MVLT//XX in wreath reverse type. Copying mint of Trier. Part of the edge of the flan appears to have been folded over. this reverse tpe does not appear to be listed in RIC for the mint of Trier.
