Roman copper alloy incomplete unidentified object, a strip turned downwards through almost 90 degrees before a break at both ends and with, in the centre, a circular bezel set with a blue glass cabochon. The sharp edge and the thinness of the strip suggests this is not part of a finger ring. Length and width 16.5 and 10mm. Thickness including stone 5.7mm. Mid 1st - 4th century.

Roman copper alloy plate brooch, pointed oval with a raised centre of the same shape in which there are twelve rectangular cells set transversely. Five contain blue glass, and the others may also have done so. Some are discoloured and others contain some yellowish material that is probably fixative. The base of the raised area is decorated with fine oblique grooves and on the incomplete surrounding flange, there are twenty punched ring-and-dots. Rib on upper end of the bent oval-sectioned bow with multiple engraved notches on both faces of the semi-circular moulding forming the junction with the wings. Surviving length (unbent) c.50mm.
