Lead cloth seal for woolen cloth from London. The obverse of this incomplete seal shows a shield with the arms of England, E/R to the sides. Some of the inscription is visible: [...]VLI[...]E'LON[...]. The reverse shows an ornate shield with a sword in the first quarter; this depicts the arms of London. Similar seal may be found illustrated in Egan, 1994, Figure 19, number 61.

Small lead cloth seal. The object was probably a four-part seal; there are signs of a breakage on the second disc. There are two discs surviving; the first disc has the rivet that would have been fitted into the fourth disc (missing), this would have had a perforation to provide a means for attachment. The obverse of the first disc is not decorated. The second disc, and only other surviving part of this object, has an obverse design of a crown with three possible thistles emerging. Cast lead palm guard. The object is tear-drop shaped in plan, D-shaped in section. This would have been used to protect the palm from the force of using awls and punches in an industry such as leatherworking. There is an indentation in the centre of the flat face of the guard where the punching instrument wore into the guard.

Cast lead pilgrim ampulla. There is some decoration in relief on the obverse, but this is too worn to be discerned. The object is largely complete, with angular handles between the base and the neck of the ampulla. The left handle is miscast and therefore not perforated. There are no signs of crimping at the top of the neck; it is possible that this ampulla was never used.

The point of a lead pencil of Post-Medieval date. Undecorated and circular in section. The surface is highly oxidised.
A stylus is a writing implement used to scratch letters into the wax of a writing tablet while a pencil makes a coloured mark on wood, paper or parchment. Lead is rarely used for objects that appear to be conventional styli, with the majority of such objects most probably functioning as pencils from the 16th century onward.
