Part of an iron staff weapon, or badge of rank, probably a cornet staff head. Similar to a large spearhead, with a rough, pitted surface. The socket is formed of two tongues of metal between which the wooden handle would have been held in place and secured with 2 rivets. The tip and cutting edges are blunt, or have been blunted in the past. The blade widens along its length from 15mm at the tip to 69mm at the base. A probable terminal mount from a riding crop, in the shape of a horse's head with ears laid back against the head and mane swept to one side. Traces of tinning or paint survive in places on the surface. At the base of the neck is a hole for fixing to the crop, with traces of lead remaining around it.

Lozenge-shaped silver-gilt 16th century dress hook. Fine foliate decoration around the edges, with the decoration on the main body comprising 13 very fine twisted wire circles surrounding 8 tiny spheres (five of which are missing) and 5 larger raised points (four of which have broken off). (Filigree and granulated ornament). The broken sections have exposed the hollow core of the artefact. A back-plate (pierced by a single central hole), raised transverse bar and re-curved hook are soldered onto the rear. The hook has two cracks in it and has been soldered at least once.

A small (110mm long), unlooped palstave with a narrow blade which has only a slight splay towards the cutting edge (min. width of blade-face= 21mm, max.= 28mm). There is a single mid-rib on either face of length c.45mm which fades out c.30mm before the curved cutting edge. The blade-tips have rounded corners with no recurve. The septum is quite small (length=36mm, min. width=13mm, max.=22mm) with very slight flanges (max. height=2mm). An incomplete Bow-and-Fantail brooch (the spring cover, axis-bar, suspension loop, spring and pin are missing). The remaining part of the narrow bow is 13mm long and has been twisted and flattened. The fantail foot (18mm long and max. 18mm wide) is decorated with a lozenge or star above a swirl pattern. The foot is slightly bent on one side. On the reverse is an incomplete catchplate. Small copper alloy knife-dagger 103mm in length, 38mm in width (max.), with ogival form and single mid-rib. The edges are bevelled (bevels up to 4mm in width) and some of the surface scratches may be evidence of sharpening, only parts of the blade-edge survive. Two incomplete rivet holes can be discerned at the damaged butt, but insufficient of either survive to allow the diameters to be established. A small, narrow-butted copper-alloy flat axe from the Early Bronze Age. The rounded cutting edge (37mm wide) shows signs of having been slightly flared, though one side is partly missing. The body of the axe has a bevel, approximately 55mm from the cutting edge, but this is not very pronounced. The axe tapers back to a thin, semi-circular butt (19mm wide). A copper-alloy, rhomboid shaped Roman seal box. The box is of hinged, two piece construction and is largely intact. The rhomboid shaped box lid has a raised outer edge with two circles in the centre of the field. The centre circles are filled with blue enamel and there are traces of red enamel in the field surrounding them. There is a lug on the underside of the lid that fits into a socket in the box section. A double-loop, circular copper alloy buckle complete with pin. The buckle is late medieval to Post Medieval and bears a strong resemblance to C. Marshall's Medieval Type IIIB and Post-Medieval Type IIIB in 'Buckles Through The Ages'. There is a knop to each side of the buckle, characteristic of a zoomorphic head and tail.

A narrow-bladed, copper-alloy dagger, 127mm in length, 31mm in width and 4mm in section (max) with an ogival form and a single midrib running the length of the weapon. There is evidence of a bevel and sharpening at the butt end but most of the edge is eroded. The butt has two clear rivet holes both damaged and incomplete but with sufficient to indicate a rivet diameter of 5mm. A hammered silver short cross penny, probably of King John. The obverse side is struck in the name of Henry II and has a very crude bust. The reverse has a voided short cross with quatrefoils in each quadrant with the moneyer as Ilger of London. The coin is struck off centre. It is similar to the class 6a coinage of King John (1199 - 1216) in Seaby (pp145-7).

A copper alloy Roman coin with extensive wear and degradation of the identifiable marks. The obverse has a portrait head not dissimilar to Severus Alexander (AD222 – AD235) and the size would indicate that it is a Sestertius. The reverse has a standing figure, possibly Ceres with the initials SC to either side. The coin has the appearance and style of a counterfeit of the period.

A copper alloy ring, in the form of a two turn spiral that has the appearance of a late Bronze Age/Iron age artefact. It may have been a finger ring or perhaps a hair ring. Similar examples, classed as finger rings have been found in context at the Iron Age Hill Fort at Hod Hill. This type of ring is also known in the early Roman period. A Roman cast copper-alloy figurine of Salus feeding a snake. Very similar to item WILT-D40CD5 published in the PAS Annual Report 2011, pp23. The figurine has lost its lower legs and feet (if it ever had any) and the surface is quite abraded with little fine detail visible.
