An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman horse brooch. The brooch is in the shape of a stylised horse with Romano-British styled decoration in the form of blocks of enamel, but has a realistic shaped head, if slightly simplified. The head has a circular cell representing an eye. There is a moulded mane, but with no fine detail of the hair, instead there is a slender cell which was originally filled with enamel, and is further decorated with fine obliquely angled ridges along on the upper edge of the cell. A rim fragment of a wheelmade ceramic vessel. The rim is slightly bulbous and ‘n’ shaped in profile. The core and interior is a light grey and the exterior is a mottled grey/brown colour. The fabric has frequent, hard, angular, grey geological inclusions of varied size. The sherd weighs 14.48g. The fabric is probably Malvernian Ware dating to the 2nd to 4th centuries. A Roman cast lead and iron steelyard weight. In profile the weight is an asymmetrical bi-conical with a circular section. The upper and lower apex of the weight has an incomplete iron loop. The surface of the weight is mid beige/cream. It weighs 97.6g and is 36.61mm long and 27.07mm in diameter. Barford, Blockley and Day (1984 ‘A Romano-British Steelyard From Marshfield, Avon’.) illustrate a similar shaped weight dating to the Roman period, as does Allason-Jones and Miket (1984 Catalogue of Small Finds from South Shields Roman Fort Gloucester), Nos. 8.46 and 8.47.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy Roman bracelet. The bracelet is a distorted pennannular in plan with one terminal forming a small out-turned hook, the other terminal is a broken edge. This break is not recent. In profile the bracelet is an elongated rectangle, which is decorated on the exterior with multiple motifs. These motifs consist of a block of transverse grooves, a block with a horizontal linear groove with a row of ring and dot designs either side. A rim sherd of a Roman Samian Ware vessel. The rim is profile is a sub-‘n’ shape with the exterior of the rim leaning outwards slightly. The interior has a small horizontal cordon below the rim. In profile the wall of the vessel is only slightly convex on the exterior and concave on the interior. The broken edges of the sherd are quite fresh. It weighs 2.9g. The sherd is Samian Ware, suggesting the vessel is used as table ware rather than used for utilitarian purposes. The vessel was probably a bowl or dish. A ceramic mortarium rim sherd. The fabric is quite hard with a fine texture and is an off-white colour. The vessel has small rounded white and pink quartz coloured situation grits. The rim is damaged and the complete profile does not remain. The sherd is abraded and is only a fragment of the complete vessel. It weighs 37.6g. The fabric is probably an Oxfordshire white mortarium which dates to the 2nd to 4th centuries.

An incomplete cast copper alloy pin. The head and a fragment of the shank remains. It is in a fair condition. The shank is circular in section, and gradually tapers, almost to a point, but the tip appears to be missing, but this is not a break. The upper portion of the shank is decorated with a transverse fine groove. The pin head is circular in section, is bulbous with a slightly flattened head.
