A red bead with irregular facets which could date from Roman to medieval periods (c AD 43-1000). The bead is irregular in shape with some facets, on one of which there appears to be the impression of a flower. It is not clear what the bead is made from. The bead is opaque brownish/red and is possibly made of ceramic which has been painted as there is evidence of a different fabric around the area of the aperture.

A fragment of a bone hair pin, pin or needle of probable Roman date comprising a portion of the shaft and the pointed tip. The surface is a dark brown colour with oblique striations. The object is sub-circular in cross section and the point is conical. Measurements are; length 49.3mm, diameter at the widest point 2.3mm and weight 0.36g. This is narrower than the maximum diameter given for most Roman pins and hair pins on the PAS database, but this may be because the head is missing. Similar bone hair pins have been recorded on the database including SUR-6AA775 and LON-10EEF7.
