Incomplete Medieval annular brooch, probably miss-cast and unfinished, just over half survives with four of a probable six projecting collets, each between two blind perforations and twin notches flanking a triangular projection on outside edge, groove around outside edge. Incomplete Early Saxon continental radiate-headed brooch, very worn and corroded, damaged head-plate with three of originally five integral cast knobs, semi-circular plate with twin engraved bordering lines containing multiple vertical lines, flattened remains of broken bow with vertical line of three dots on median rib between moulded zig-zag lines in relief, transverse lines at break where foot missing. Slight stump of pin-lug on reverse, catch-plate missing. cf. other examples from Norfolk in Ashley et al. (1990) fig.1, nos. 1 and 2 and Ashley and Rogerson (1992) no.1. 6th century.

Headplate with rows of dot-in-half-annulet stamped impressions along rather battered top edge and sides. D-sectioned bow with, at top and base, a rectangular panel forming facets. Both panels with transverse row of the same dot-in-half-annulet stamps. Ancient break at base of bow. On reverse single pin lug with remains of iron spring. Length >33mm. Width of headplate 20mm. Width of bow 8mm. 6th century.

Gilt fragment of head-plate from an Early Saxon Great Square-Headed brooch, broken and bent, comprising undecorated fragment of head-plate second panel on one side of plain frame and inner panel with running loops containing pellets (as on example from Spong Hill, Hines fig.63c) and square bosses at angles and more elaborate boss at base of undecorated central bar between two square perforations (broken across one). Broken perforated pin lugs on reverse (ancient breaks). Hines' Group XVI, see example from Ely-High Barns, plate 93(a). 6th-century.

Perhaps related to Hull and Hawkes (1987) Type L, Plate 22, examples from Mortlake 3560 and Woodeaton 7039. 5th-4th century BC.
