Cast cu-alloy disc brooch dating from the early Roman period, i.e. ca. 2nd century. The brooch is incomplete with its pin, spring and central gemstone/glass stone missing. Only the main body remains with the pin rest on the reverse. The obverse was decorated with moulded concentric grooves and and dots in profile. There probably was a central gem- or glass stone but that is now missing.

An incomplete cast copper alloy trumpet deriviate brooch of Roman date; c. AD 75-175. The spring mechanism, pin and foot are missing and only a fragment of the catchplate remain. A simple collar moulding separates the head from the bow. A dark brown/green patina is visible on all surfaces. The lenght is 35mm and thickness is 12mm.

Cast cu-alloy brooch with moulded decoration dating to the Early Roman period, c. AD45-60. Only the rear part of the bow and part of the spring case remain. The bow is hardly decorated but the wings are moulded with vertical flutes between ribs in a sort of inverted astragal arrangement, the ribs being finely grooved.

The pin is missing and the brooch has a very dark patina. The diameter is 45mm and the weight is 11.28g

Head fragment of Roman Colchester derivative, Dolphin-type brooch. The bow is decorated with a fairly high ridge, but there was probably no enamel or glass decoration attached to it. The pin and foot are missing, but the spiral (also made from cast cu-alloy) is still in place, as well as the cast cu-alloy cover. The spring cover is plain.

Post medieval copper alloy circular brooch or buckle frame fragment. Probably from a penannular brooch. It is predominantly semi circular in section. The curved side is plain. The 'flat' side has a central rib with two heart shaped protuberances. These 'hearts' are two out of an original four set at quarters around the original circle. The points of the hearts point inward. The style appears to be Arts & Crafts/Celtic Revival and this would date it to between c1860 and c1910 AD. Length 51mm, width 5mm, and thickness 5mm.

Cast silver light crossbow brooch dating from the late 2nd/early 3rd century. Hinged mechnism, still in working order; axis bar moves freely. A complete silver light crossbow brooch dating from the Roman period, that is c. AD175-250. The brooch is complete and in good condition. The hinge mechanism is intact and still in working order. Cast cu-alloy Roman knee brooch dating from the late second century (Continental) and earlier third century (British imitations). This one seems to be one of the earlier original Continental ones. It is complete with spring and pin and still in working order. It is a small brooch with a large spring mechanism and spring which are covered with the triangular head plate. An incomplete copper-alloy enamelled Roman plate brooch dating 43-200AD. The brooch consists of an enamelled plate with curving side wings, rounded enamelled terminals and the top of the pin is intact but the rest of the pin and catchplate is missing. Probably dates to between c43 and c120 AD. The length is 46mm, width is 25mm, thickness is 13mm, and the weight is 4.06g.

Roman brooch Colchester derivative 'T' shaped Dolphin mid Ist century AD. The bow rises hump like from the top of the wings and sweeping in an arc as it diminishes in width towards the foot which is plain. The wings are enlarged in height obscuring the spring casing from which the spring is missing as is the catchplate. The length is 31mm and the width is 14mm.
