A cast copper alloy book strap clasp. The clasp has been formed from one plate of copper alloy. The front plate is flat, with a trilobate terminal at one end, next to a extended collar. The other end has a T-shaped terminal, which forms the hook of the clasp. One rivet hole and rivet can be seen in the trilobate terminal. The metal is a mid reddish-brown colour and is very corroded. The clasp probably dates to the 16th – 17th century. A very similar one was found on the Mary Rose.

A cast copper alloy book strap clasp. The clasp has been formed from two thin plates of copper alloy. The front plate is flat, with a trilobate terminal and a flared terminal, which has been decoratively cut forming three lobes. One rivet hole can be seen at the open end. The front plate is decorated with a series of incised parallel lines, with a raised acorn shape in the centre. On the reverse there is a smaller flat, rectangular plate, which has been joined to the front plate, via a single copper alloy rivet near to the trilobate terminal. A cast copper alloy hooked strap fitting (hooked plate). The object comprises one plate. The main part of the front plate is a domed, circular element, the front of which has three facets. This main section is flanked on both ends by two collars. On one end there is a large hook (with a rivet visible on the reverse of the collars) and on the other side a knop, with a rivet punched through it. The back plate is missing. The metal surface is slightly worn and mid brownish-red in colour. Strap fittings of this type date to the 16th –18th century.

A cast copper alloy sword belt, strap fitting. The fitting consists of a plate which has been decoratively cut. The terminal is a trefoil, with a rivet hole through it. It then tapers up to a thin section, then expands into a narrow bar, which sticks out on either side, then the plate is cut in again, before terminating with a rectangular plate, with a rivet hole in it. The terminal proper is cut and bent back onto itself, forming a rectangular open hole. A cast copper alloy fragment of a fitting, possibly from a Georgian seal or strap fitting. The fragment is made from a plate of copper alloy which extends at one terminal to form a curved Y-shape. The plate is flat. Riveted onto the reverse there is a silver plate, with two rolled hinge fittings. Iron corrosion on the hinges indicates that there may have been an iron pin. The two silver rivet heads can be seen on the front of the fitting.

At the opposite end there is a bent open loop, also for attachment. The plate has rounded lobes extending from the edges. The side borders of the plate have been decorated with incised lines. The surface is mid reddish-brown in colour. The reverse is undecorated. This fitting probably dates to the 17th - 18th century.

A cast copper alloy strap fitting. It is formed from a pressed plate, which has a rectangular body, with a concave reverse. One terminal is pointed; the other has an openwork loop, with a smaller loop attached to it. The plate has three raised collars on it and two rivet heads survive. The rivets can also be seen on the reverse. The metal surface is slightly worn and mid greenish-brown in colour. Belt fittings of this type date to the 16th –17th century.

A cast copper alloy strap fitting dating to the later post-medieval period. The fitting is made from a flat plate of copper alloy, which has been decoratively shaped. The central piece of the fitting has two conjoined tear-dropped shapes, which then taper outwards into a rounded terminal. Only one terminal survives and has been decorated with a series of concentric rings, with a pellet in the centre. The metal is pitted and corroded with a mid brownish-green patina.

A cast copper alloy hooked clasp, Read Type 7. The clasp is one piece, convex and has moulded relief. Used like a toggle, the clasp has a central oval plate, with a trefoil knop and transverse ridged collar. At the opposite terminal there is a flat disc also with a transverse ridged collar. Two rivet holes can be seen on the plate. Parallels can be seen in Read, p210, No: 763.

A copper alloy sword belt fitting of Post-Medieval date, c.AD 1500 - 1700. The fitting is complete, with a solid loop, but the artefact is in poor condition, with a corroded surface and a blotchy verdigris patina. The body is long, resembling the shields of the late 12th to early 13th century. There are two rivet holes in the body, one above the other. No enamel survives, but a tiny amount of gilding survives around the upper rivet hole. There is the outline of a diagonal bar running from top left to bottom right (a bend). A cast copper alloy late medieval to early post-medieval strap mount, with evidence of surface tinning. The strap mount is circular in shape and has a domed profile. The base of the mount has a double rimmed edge. The surface is decorated with curvilinear ribs radiating from a central indent.
