Incomplete cast lead object, possibly a badge or a brooch of medieval date c. 1300-1400. The brooch is  circular in plan and decorated on the front with a voided cross , the arms projecting from a small circular boss in the centre. Each angle of the cross conains a ring-in-dot. The reverse of the object has what appears to be a hinge mechanism, with two intergrally cast perforated lugs set on top of a groove which extends laterally across the brooch. The lugs each have an expanded section  on their ends above the groove, with a gap between the lugs. This was presumably to hol…

Lead or lead alloy plate brooch fragment. Cast brooch with curvilinear beaded moulded decoration, to this reporter describing a triskele with opposed curls at the end of each of its arms around a central pellet, or perhaps as a running spiral motif. This appears to imitate the decoration of an Early Anglo-Saxon saucer brooch, which is not a common object class in the Humber region, though later brooches resembling this form are known (e.g. Weetch Type 6, dated to 900-1000; a similar brooch with central inset was reported from Lurk Lane, Beverley as a probably residual Viking Age find b…

Lead or lead alloy nummular brooch, the front somewhat battered but depicting a voided long cross within which are five solid roundels or bosses, one forming the centre and the other four the end of each arm of a cross.
