A fragment of a copper-alloy Roman brooch. Only part of the bow and catchplate remain, it is very worn. The bow is flat, with rectangular cross section, on the front face are two longitudinal grooves below which is a moulded transverse groove, which tapers into a triangular shape before terminating in an old break. To the reverse are the remains of a catchplate. It has the remains of a white metal coating.

An incomplete copper-alloy Roman Colchester Derivative Hinged brooch dating to c. AD 43-120.
The spring, the majority of the wings and the whole pin are all missing due to old breaks. Only a short portion of the wings on the back of the bow has survived, which is tubular. The bow is D-shaped in cross-section and tapers to a rounded foot. At both sides of the upper portion of the bow are moulded oblique ridges. An incomplete copper-alloy Roman Colchester derivative Polden Hill bow brooch dating to c. AD 75-175.
The catchplate, spring and pin are all missing due to old breaks. It has semi-cylindrical wings that are extended flat circular ends with pierced holes to encase the now missing spring. At the centre of the wings is a worn and incomplete rear-facing hook that would have held in place the axis bar. The front faces of the wings are decorated with incised longitudinal grooves. An incomplete cast copper-alloy Roman Colchester derivative hinged brooch dating to c.AD 43-120.
The tubular wings enclose an axis bar, with a rectangular slot in the centre for the pin; the pin has not survived. The wings are damaged at one end, the other has a circumferential groove at the cap. The bow springs out from the wings, it is curved and D-shaped in cross-section. No visible decoration on the bow and it terminates with an old break. Missing its pin and catchplate. Dark green patina.

A fragment of a copper-alloy Roman brooch, possibly a headstud type. All that remains is part of the wings and bow. The brooch is T shaped, the wings are short, semi-circular in cross section. At the top of the bow is a raised moulding of an oval shape, beneath which are recessed rectangles before terminating in an old break. On the top of the wings is a stump, possibly for a chain loop.
