Prominent foot knob with small nodule underfoot, transverse groove at top of knob. Waist moulding immediately above knob, further moulding decorated with transverse groove above waist. Leg has median rib with a zigzag rib running down each side. The button consists of a plain large bead with a smaller one above and below - each incised with a groove. The button continues around the back of the brooch but is here flattened. Anglo-Saxon circular lead brooch, with openwork cross in middle, and sunken rectangules and groups of three pellets around, all within a ladder-pattern border. Lowered border around edge, now mainly missing but where present decorated with raised ribs ending in pellets.
