Usually these types of brooches date to the 1st to 2nd century, when they are made from copper alloy. However, this brooch is made from lead or lead alloy, and was made as the first stage to manufacturing brooches. An incomplete lead alloy possible model for a trumpet style brooch, dating from 75 to 175 AD. Around 25% of the possible model is present, consisting of the head. The head is conical and tapers to a point. The base is recessed with a depression at the centre.  It measures 15.4 mm in length, 9.6 mm wide and 8.3 mm thick. It weighs 4.1 g.
