An incomplete Late Iron Age to Roman copper-alloy Langton Down brooch dating to AD 20-65. T-shaped in plan, the extant piece consists of the wings and upper bow. The wings are cylindrical with straight, solid edges. Possible silver, oval shaped fastener from the Victorian or early twentieth century AD, c. 1850-1950. The decoration is eclectic with many faceted shapes making the overall design.The pin mechanism does not survive but the mounting points for this can be seen on the rear of the brooch. It is in clean condition, complete except for the pin. It measures 41mm long by 21mm wide, and weighs 5.23g.
