Roman (AD c. 69-96) T-shaped brooch: The cylindrical crossbar is formed by being curled around the iron axis bar forming a horizontal seam on the reverse of the crossbar. There is some damage on the reverse of he cross bar. The crossbar has a central slot on the reverse to allow the pin to be hinged which is now missing. The outer face of the wings is decorated with triple-stranded transverse ridges in the centre of each wing. An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman brooch. The wings are tubular with abraded terminals. In the centre of the wings there is a slot to allow the pin to move. The pin is now missing. The axis bar within the wings is possibly iron. The bow head and bow are angular, thick, and a sub-lozenge shape in section. In profile the bow is a pronounced ')' shape and the lower edge tapers to a broken edge. The lower portion of the bow is missing. An incomplete cast copper alloy Roman brooch of Colchester derivative Polden Hill (West Midland). The wings are semi-cylindrical but are incomplete and abraded. It is not certain whether they had wing caps or not. The axis bar, spring and pin are all missing. The wings are undecorated. The bowhead is hump-like in profile and is semi-circular in section. An incomplete cast copper alloy annular brooch of later medieval date (1300-1450). The brooch is approximately 50% complete, consisting only of the circular (annular) frame. The pin is missing, presumably lost in antiquity. In plan the brooch is an irregular oval (probably originally circular) with a triangular cross section, with the apex pointing towards the centre of the brooch.
