An incomplete and bent cast copper alloy Roman Initial T-shaped brooch, of Colchester derivative hinged pin type (Mackreth (2011) CD H) dating to the late 1st to early 2nd century AD. The wings are cylindrical with moulded lobes around each end and contain remains of an iron axis spindle which has corroded, expanded and broken the wings in places. The centre of the head has a notch for the pin. The bow is convex, with a moulded spine, ridged margins and a triangular lobe at the apex with a small hole at the centre and a lobed collar behind. The arms are semi-cylindrical with moulded ridges and shoulders, and the catchplate is openwork and largely incomplete. An incomplete copper-alloy early Iron Age bow brooch dating to 450-300 BC, 27.7mm in length, complete with part of the spring, but missing its pin. The bow has a flat cross section and flares into a lenticular plate which is strongly arched and is decorated with two ridges which form an ellipse along the spine. The catchplate is incomplete. A post-medieval silver annular brooch dating to c.1600-1700. The brooch consists of a circular frame, 23.9mm in diameter that has a convex frame 3,2mm wide with rounded exterior surfaces set at an oblique angle. The reverse is concave. There is a pin constriction flanked by collars with pairs of transverse decorative grooves. The pin is retained and has a flat triangular cross section. There are no maker's marks.

A silver pin from a medieval brooch, probably of annular type. The pin is 27.6mm in length and bent. The shaft has a flattened and oval cross section and tapers to a rounded tip. There is a small collar at the loop which is decorated with punched annulets, although use wear has obscured these. The articulation loop has a flat cross section. The underside of the pin has a distinctive patch of corrosion running from the bend to the tip. This may relate to use, perhaps representing an area in regular prolonged contact with acidic organic surfaces such as skin or leather.

A complete silver gilt annular brooch of medieval date. The frame has a plano-convex cross section with a flat reverse. An incomplete and damaged copper-alloy Nauheim derivative type bow brooch dating to the late Iron Age or early Roman period of the type suggested by Mackreth 2011, ND 3.b3. Plate 8. The brooch is in two pieces, together approximately 52mm in length and is complete with the spring and part of the pin, which is made from the same piece of metal as the rest of the brooch. The bow is 5.6mm wide with a flat cross section and is undecorated. The foot is bent around on itself, but there appears to be no catchplate remaining.

An incomplete copper alloy Roman Developed T-shaped brooch dating to the period AD 50-150. The head has a pair of tubular wings divided by a central pin slot retaining the rusted remnants of an iron axis bar. There may be a stump of a (now lost) projecting loop on the head. The bow meets the head at a 90 degree angle and has decoration in the form of a panel of three diamond shaped cells flanked by triangular incuse cells which would have probably held enamel; below this panel is a raised sub-rounded boss. The underside of the bow is concave. The foot, catchplate and pin are missing.
