An incomplete copper alloy Aucissa brooch dated to the Roman period, c. AD 43-80. Mackreth 2011, Aucissa Type 2.b, Plate 90, no.8687.
The head of the brooch is formed from a flat, rectangular panel which splits into two at the back and rolls up and round to form the integral hinge which would have held the pin mechanism. The axis bar, pin and pin mechanism are all lost. An incomplete and slightly unusual copper alloy Roman Colchester Polden Hill brooch of Mackreth 2011, CD PH 9.d. Plate 54 no. 1649, dating to AD 50-70. Most of the bow is missing.
The head of the brooch survives. The wings are oval, with an open reverse and each wing terminating in a perforated oval wing cap.

The one-piece brooch is missing both its spring and its pin. The arched bow is D-shaped in section, being flat on the back and convex on the front. An incomplete Roman copper alloy brooch of the standard British type of Colchester one-piece type. The head has a pair of small, flat wings and a projecting hook for the spring chord. The spring and pin would have been integrally cast, and only a stump of the spring remains. The bow is narrow with an oval cross-section around 2.8mm thick and appears undecorated. 48.8mm in length. The foot tapers to a point; most of , the catchplate is lost. Circa 1st century AD.

An incomplete and badly damaged Roman copper-alloy, oval plate brooch with oval central flange, which would have contained a glass or intaglio setting, now missing (c. AD 200 - 350). The plate has three concentric raised edges between the setting and the brooch edge, leaving two flat concentric rings between them, both of which show signs of gilding. On the back, small parts of the perforated lug and catch plate remain, but the pin is missing.

A fragment of a Roman copper alloy Colchester derivative Polden Hill type brooch, dating to c AD 40 - 120. All that remains is the head and a very short stretch of D section bow. The head is made up of semi cylindrical wings which cradle the spring and a pierced lug on a crest at the apex which holds the chord of the spring. The axis bar, which passes through the centre of the coils of the spring, is held in the two end caps. It is not clear how many coils remain. Very fine pairs of incised lines decorate the ends of the wings. The pin is entirely missing.

An incomplete early Roman copper alloy probable Hod Hill brooch, dating to cAD 43 - 75. The simple tubular head, an extension of the bow, is rolled forward, hinged pin missing. The bow projects a little from the lower part of the head, is flat and decorated with two raised ridges, one at each edge, leaving deep grooves between. Iron corrosion suggests an iron axis bar.
