A complete cast copper alloy annular brooch dating to the medieval period (c.AD 1250-1400). The brooch is circular in shape and a D-shaped cross section. The frame of the brooch is decorated with a continuous series of globular segments that give a rope-like effect. The frame has a defined constriction at the top to allow for the placement of the pin which is still intact. The pin has a sub-rectangular shaft with a slightly pointed terminal. Incomplete cast copper alloy Colchester Derivative dolphin bow brooch dating to mid firt century (c.AD 43-100). The object is comprised of the bow and head, a small part of the right wing is present. The remains of the brooch such as the catchplate, wings, spring and pin are missing. The bow head is hump-like, and slightly angular (comma shaped) in profile, with cylindral wings projecting from either side at the top of the head. A cast copper alloy possible Polden Hill brooch dating to the Roman period. The object is incomplete with the rounded head, and incomplete wings and bow remaining. The head is D-shaped in cross-section and is corroded. The wings project from either side of the head and are D-shaped in cross-section with a moulded decorative ridge where they join the head. 5mm of the bow is present, which terminates with an ancient break which is rounded. A cast copper alloy Polden Hill brooch dating to the Roman period, c. AD75-175. The wings are semi-cylindrical and terminate with a break. The axis bar, spring and pin are all missing. The bowhead is hump-like in profile and is decorated with two vertical ridges running parallel with each other, which terminate opposite the start of the catchplate, creating a rectangular pannel. A cast copper alloy headstud brooch dating to the Roman period. The head is comprised of short rectangular wings from the centre of which the bow projects and tapers downwards towards the foot. Each wing is decorated with a vertical ridge. The bow tapers in width towards the foot which projects forwards and is rounded. A cast copper alloy derivative trumpet or Wirral brooch dating to the 2nd century AD. The object is a hinged example. The head is stepped as is typical of the Wirral type and is incomplete. The stepped head is decorated with three cells of orange enamel. The upper bow is decorated with six triangular cells, three on each side, which are in-filled with blue enamel. Very fine medieval gold annular brooch dating from the 15th century. The brooch is hollow cast and is hemispherical in section. Part of the frame is made up of a pair of very finely cast three-dimensional clasped hands, the right hand faces the front and is positioned over the left. There is a raised band immediately below the knuckles suggesting the end of a sleeve. The left hand, facing the back of the brooch, has the same band but is less pronounced probably due to wear. There is a small hole about 1mm diameter where the thumbs of the hands meet on the inner edge of the frame. Cuff…
