A fragment of a Roman copper alloy Colchester type brooch, dating AD 43-75. The fragment is from the head of the brooch, with part of the bow, cross bar and springs all that remain. The cross bar is broken close to the bow on one side and ~5 mm away from the bow on the other side. Only one coil of the spring remains which passes through a perforation in the head of the bow. The integral loop, which the wire for the pin would have also passed through, has brokwn away leaving a small rounded protrusion on the top. A fragment of a cast copper alloy Roman brooch of uncertain type. The fragment consists of part of the head and the upper bow but is missing the majority of the bow, the pin mechanism, the foot and the catchplate. The top of the fragment has a broken edge where the pin mechanism would have been attached to the brooch. From the broken edge, the brooch tapers to form the bow. A fragment of a Roman cast copper alloy brooch from a Colchester derivative type dating to AD49 - 65. The fragment consists of the lower bow and the catchplate. The bow is straight and has a ridge running the length of the fragment on the front but is flat on the back. The bow also tapers slightly in width from the top of the fragment to the foot. TREASURE CASE 2012 T126 A medieval brooch, circular in shape, with a recessed bar for the attachment of a pin, now missing. The circumference of the frame is decorated with three equally spaced leaves resembling ivy. The frame has a raised central ridge either side of which is an alternating design of squares and circular punches. The reverse of the brooch is flat and plain.
