An incomplete Roman copper-alloy bow brooch of Colchester derivative type, dating to circa AD 43-120. The brooch is broadly T-shaped with flattened wings. It is uncertain if the brooch would have had a spring or if it was a hinged variety. The bow is broadly traingular in form and is flattened at the top in profile as opposed to the Polden Hill types that are more hump like. An incomplete cast copper alloy trumpet brooch, of Roman date circa AD 75 to 175. The remains of the brooch consist of the head and bow and the pierced lug at the rear of the head. The foot, catch plate, spring mechanism and the pin are missing. A Roman copper alloy 'bow and fantail' bow brooch, dating to circa AD 50-150. The brooch is broadly T-shaped in plan with curved broadly 'C' shaped in prodile wings. The head is angular, and the brooch is an inverted 'L' shape in profile. The wings are broadly intact, however the spring and coils at the reverse of the head are now missing. Roman copper alloy Polden hill brooch, 45mm long, 23mm wide and 13mm thick. The object is in fair condition with a dark brown patina and weighs 11.52grams. The brooch has very short curved wings with no pin present. The bow is sub circular in section and is plain, tapering to a point. Its reverse has the traces of a catchplate running its length.

The wings are semi-cylindrical with wing caps which hold in place the axis bar and spring. A short portion of the pin remains. The bow is hump-like with two knops, one either side of the central vertical groove. The bow is abraded and tapers towards the foot. The bow is semi-circular in cross section. At the mid point of the bow there is a circular cell which is conical shape in profile. The bow foot is circular in cross section. The catchplate is solid and complete. The brooch has a brown coloured patina.

Only one component of the brooch remains. This component is the leg which extends upwards towards the wings. This leg has a triangular (in plan) foot, which is decorated with four annulets and an inverted drop shape cell. The bow is a sub-lozenge shape in plan which has a large annulet within which is a central circular hole. The upper edge of the lozenge is curved and has an abraded horizontal bar seated on it. The item has a flat sub-triangular portion with a hole in the centre. One longer outer edge has a curved edge, which distorts the upper left corner. Protruding from the upper right corner is a round sectioned, gradually tapering pin. The tip of which is missing, an old break. The rectangular portion has a hole in the centre, which possibly acts as a pivot/hinge for the brooch pin.
