A complete cast copper alloy annular brooch or buckle of medieval date. The object is small, circular in plan and cross section with a narrow constriction for the pin. The object is undecorated and the pin no longer remains. The metal has a mid greenish-brown patina and is worn. The object is 13mm in diameter, 1.8mm thick and weighs 0.5g. Egan and Pritchard (p.64-65) state that "a constriction on a single frame to limit the movement of the pin is generally an indication of a brooch rather than a buckle" therefore suggesting this example is a brooch.
