A cast copper-alloy trefoil-headed Early Medieval small-long brooch dating from AD 450 - 550. The rectangular headplate and the semi-circular and flat top and side knobs are all of one piece, being a simply a flat sheet of plain metal, with the top and side knobs delineated in plan only. The plate is corroded, obscuring any possible punched decoration. The bow is also plain. A cast copper alloy annular six-lobed brooch of Medieval date (c.AD 1200-1400). The frame is oval in form and D-shaped in cross-section, being flat to the reverse. The six rounded lobes are evenly spaced around the circular frame, which is constricted at one part for the pin. Two of the lobes are conical, with on still housing a light blue glass or gem setting, the other is lobe has a round collet for a missing setting. An incomplete copper-alloy knee brooch of Roman date, c.AD 150 - 250. Mackreth 2011, KNEE Br 2.a1 group, Plate 131, no.7537.
The brooch has hollow semi-circular wings which house an axis bar around which nine turns of the spring are present. The outer ends of the spring curve underneath to form a loop and pin no longer survives.

An incomplete copper-alloy headstud brooch of Roman date, c.AD 75 - 200. Mackreth 2011, Hinged Headstud Type 4, Plate 72, no.7229. the brooch is bent to for an almost closed-shape.
The head of the brooch comprises rectangular wings the reverse of which act as a double lug hinge mechanism which retains a central axis bar. The mechanism is damaged and worn with traces of iron corrosion.
A worn rectangular collar projects from the centre of the head from which an attachment loop, now lost, would have projected. No decoration can be discerned.

A silver medieval annular brooch dating from AD 1200 - 1400. The frame is circular in plan, with a pin constriction. The frame is flat and rectangular in cross-section, probably cut from thick sheet. The front face is decorated with incised line borders and transverse lines. The pin missing, and the reverse is plain. The brooch is 19.9mm diameter, 1.3mm thick and 0.9g.

An incomplete copper-alloy headstud brooch of Roman date, c.AD 75 - 200. Uncertain Mackreth Type. The head of the brooch comprises tubular wing with act as a hinge mechanism. This is heavily corroded, obscuring the detai. The pin proper no longer survives.
A central D-shaped sectioned bow extends from between the front of the wings, tapering to a worn break. An integral worn headstud knop is present at the apex of the bow.
The metal has a mid-green patina and is worn. The brooch is 14.5mm long, 11.8mm wide, 5.4mm thick and weighs 1.9g.

The brooch is imperfectly circular, 27mm in diameter (or 25.75 x 27mm). The plate is 2.05mm thick, with the overall thickness (incuding the catch-plate) of 13.30mm. It weighs 9.5g.

A fragment of a cast copper alloy Roman brooch, a headstud brooch dating from AD 75 - 200. Only the head of the brooch survives. It has an integral rounded stud and the wings have recessed cells for enamel. There are three inward pointing triangles on each wing, leaving a cross saltire in relief between them. The fourth segment of the cross is supplied by a recessed cell on the side of the bow. There is a pseudo crest above the stud, and also a moulded pseudo forward chord. The decorated face is moulded with a central motif of three trumpet heads all meeting at a triangular central point. A fragment of a copper alloy Roman Trumpet brooch dating from AD 75 - 175. The head is plain, circular and has a nib at the top. The brooch is badly corroded but there are signs of a collar below the worn acanthus moulding. The lower bow tapers and the foot is broken off and missing. There is a single loop behind the head which would have held a spring on a sleeve. The spring and pin are missing. It has a dark green pitted patina. The head is ovate with a single centrally positioned integral vertical lug to the reverse. The spring and loop remain though the pin is lost to a worn break.
An axis bar remains fitted through the lug. The ends curve upward to form a head loop held at the waist by a circular sectioned open staple. Six turns of the spring remain around the axis bar. The outer turns of the spring bend under the head to form a loop.
