The brooch comprises a sub-circular plate which has two concentric recessed circles creating cells for enamel on the front face and at the centre. The outer cell retains substantial degraded light green/blue enamel, the centre cell has traces of dark blue enamel. A copper alloy disk brooch, probably of Roman date (c. AD 100 - 200). The surface is decorated with a six pointed star with lugs at each point. The star forms a cell which is filled with red enamel. A circular central cell is filled with blue enamel. Traces of blue enamel are also in the spaces between the arms of the star, The object is incomplete. The reverse has a spring mechanism, the pin and part of catch plate are missing, and only one of the peripheral lugs that decorated the points of the star is present.
