An almost complete Roman cast copper alloy brooch of headstud type dating to c.AD 75-200. The brooch consists of a hinged pin attached to short wings on either side, and a curved bow with a column like foot and catch plate. The outer faces of the wings are decorated with three transverse grooves. To the reverse is a narrow cylinder with a slot in the centre which holds a hinged pin and axis bar. The pin remains articulated. The head and part of the bow from an early Anglo-Saxon small long brooch, recovered together but with old, patinated breaks.  The object is broken behind the head, and when re-assembled is 34mm long, 27mm wide, 6mm thick andweighs 5.61g. The head has three corroded and eroded lugs surviving, with no clear evidence of decoration, although this may have been lost through corrosion.  The rear face of the head has a semi-circular projection with an indentation where the pin would have been attached.

A copper alloy Roman brooch, possibly a Clochester derivative type, complete apart from the missing coil and pin.  The brooch is in good condition, with traces of tinning remaining on the arms.  It is 34mm long, 18mm wide, 12mm thick and weighs 5.64g.

An incomplete Roman copper-alloy Colchester derivative brooch, dating to AD 50-250. The hinged  pin is missing. The cyclindrical wings are undecorated. The bow is D-shaped in cross section and tapers towards the catchplate. The bow is decorated with a central rib, with diagonal lines projecting from each side across the length of the bow. A fragment of a Roman copper-alloy trumpet-headed brooch, dating to c. AD 43 - 100. The head and stub of the bow only remaining, The head is trumpet-shaped with an arched upper edge from which projects an incomplete pierced head loop. The head projects forwards and narrows sharply into the bow.  At the rear are integrally cast semi-cylindrical wings housing the iron axis bar for the hinged pin mechanism. An incomplete Early Medieval cast copper alloy small-long or cruciform brooch dating to c.AD 400-600. The brooch consists of part of the flat head and part of the arched upper bow. The head plate is rectangular. A thin stepped collar separates the head plate from the bow. The headplate has faint traces of raised decoration. The bow is decorated with traces of a raised interconnecting chevrons. The reverse is undecorated.
