An almost complete Roman cast copper alloy brooch of headstud type dating to c.AD 75-200. The brooch consists of a hinged pin attached to short wings on either side, and a curved bow with a column like foot and catch plate. The outer faces of the wings are decorated with three transverse grooves. To the reverse is a narrow cylinder with a slot in the centre which holds a hinged pin and axis bar. The pin remains articulated. The head and part of the bow from an early Anglo-Saxon small long brooch, recovered together but with old, patinated breaks.  The object is broken behind the head, and when re-assembled is 34mm long, 27mm wide, 6mm thick andweighs 5.61g. The head has three corroded and eroded lugs surviving, with no clear evidence of decoration, although this may have been lost through corrosion.  The rear face of the head has a semi-circular projection with an indentation where the pin would have been attached.

A fragment of a copper alloy Brooch of Roman date (AD 43-75). The object is of Hod Hill type. The head, wings and pin are missing due to an old, abraded break. The bow a tapering ovate form, slightly arched and is decorated with two parallel longitudinal moulded ridges. At the lower edge of the bow is a moulded lateral collar, below which the object tapers to a blunted foot. From the back of the foot a thin raised strip is retained, which would have formed a catchplate. An incomplete copper alloy brooch of Wroxeter type (T151) Roman date (AD 43-150). The object is a T-shaped brooch. The wings are short and rectangular in shape with circular ends, a central circular perforation is partially retained within the end cap of each. There is a rectangular notch at the back of the wings, to accommodate the sprung pin. An incomplete copper alloy brooch of late Iron Age to early Roman date (AD 25-100). The object is a Langton Down brooch of type Mackreth 2011, LD 2.a. The object is composed of folded cylindrical wings, with an ovate void to accommodate an axis bar and coiled wore spring which is partially retained, which would have extended into a pin, which is now missing. An incomplete copper alloy Polden Hill brooch of Roman date (AD 130-200).  The wings are circular shaped with circular ends, a central circular perforation and iron corrosion within the perforations.
