Early medieval copper alloy/iron brooch fragment?, 18mm long, 17mm wide 4mm thick. It is in fair condition with a weight of 2.37grams. The object material resembles iron and where its damaged its structure does look like iron, but it has traces of copper corrosion suggesting it may have copper alloy core? The object has three distinct patches of gilding (one below the right eye), which should appear on the close up image. The object is trefoil in form and rectangular in section.
